World Food Safety Day on 7 June was launched in November 1979 by the FAO and it draws attention to prevent, detect and manage food borne risks and improve human health. This year’s theme, “Safer food, better health”, highlights that human health and well-being is reliant on safe & healthy food. The FAO in collaboration with the UN have issued a set of specific actions to make food safer, through awareness campaigns across the globe.
